Book Review: One of Us is Lying

I recently read this incredible book called One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus and here are my thoughts.

One of Us is Lying is about four kids that go to detention for the same reason. They had phones in their backpacks that weren’t even theirs! They were not supposed to have phones during class, so they received detention from their teacher, Mr. Avery.

When the five students, Addy, Cooper, Nate, Simon, and Bronwyn arrive in detention, everything seems normal. For a while, they talk and hang out with one another. But, Simon gets thirsty and grabs a cup, and fills it with water. All of a sudden, he has an allergic reaction! The students try to save him, but they are too late. Simon dies. After a bit of investigating, the police found that the cup had peanut oil in it. Simon was very allergic to peanuts. Police then believe that his death was not an accident. The rest of the students become suspects in Simon’s murder. Who did it? You will have to find out if you read this book! I recommend it!
